1.Select Tools

2. In the window, under the security tab. Follow the steps.

3. Restart thunderbird, then it will prompt a window request to enter password. Tick the checkbox to save the password.

4. While sending out an email, thunderbird will prompt again request to enter password. Tick the checkbox to save the password.
